Guess Who's Back

Woo chile! I know I know. I’ve been gone too long blah blah blah. Anyway here I am with a spare moment (between work, school, and two pre-schoolers) to let y’all know what has been going on with me and my hair. The last time I blogged I was going on about how I was one year relaxer free and that I was sticking with “Winston” after nearly killing it in a blow out gone wrong. Well about two weeks after that post, crazy me went to the same salon where I got the blow out, sat in the chair and said those dreaded words.....RELAX IT. Yes I relaxed my hair and for the next few days I dealt with it. Then one day I looked in the mirror and said what the hell were you thinking?!?! Well I decided that I had a choice. I could stick with relaxed hair that was in a cut that sucked or I could start transitioning again to natural and use protective styles to hide my hair until I was ready to big chop again. Well I chose curtain number two. So far I am 12 weeks post relaxer and I am seriously not looking back. So far as hiding my hair goes, I wore a full sew-in weave that was incredible except for the fact the hair was awful. I mean tangled, dreaded, and shedding awful. The kind of awful where if you ever see a pack of that hair again you will break out in hives and shake from the anger of paying so much money for it. Well more on that in another post soon.

My next conquest as far as protective styling goes is Marley twists. I already have the hair from my failed attempt but I need to get a couple more packs just to make sure I have enough. I have also re-watched every tutorial on Marley Twists on YouTube and I found where I went wrong the first time. My twisting method was all wrong, but I think this time I got it down. As far as when I will be installing the twists, I have no earthly idea because I want to have enough time to do it right and not feel rushed, but it will be as soon as I can. I plan on keeping them in for at least 3-4 weeks at a time until I decide to find another protective style, but I plan on keeping up Operation Hide My Hair until October 2014 at which time I will definitely be big chopping again, but knowing me it might be sooner than that. I can definitely say that my need to relax is over and I will not be returning.
