Hey everybody. I hope everything has been well with you. Here I am again with another wash day but this time with a relaxer update. I relaxed my hair at 20 weeks post relaxer and let’s just say that I was happy to have done it. My hair was a hot mess (in my opinion). For the most part it was just dry and shedding. However the shedding wasn’t something to worry about, but with me shedding just comes with the territory and it is consistent with the same amount coming out every wash day. Also throw in the mix that I try not to comb my hair every single day and it can look like a lot in one wash day. After getting my hair relaxed I spent my anniversary (well technically my anniversary is Thursday, but we celebrate early due to work schedules) in Atlantic City. I made sure to stick with moisturizing and sealing as well as keeping my hair covered the best I could (wink wink), but when I got back I needed to wash my hair. I happened upon a pic of Kim from Fancy Flair Lady on Instagram and she did a roller set on her hair and was inspired to do a set of my own. So without further ado here is what I did.
|My Roller Set (I need to work on not adding too much hair to the roller.)|
1. Shampooed with Crème of Nature Straight from Eden Hydrating Shampoo. I am still in love with shampoo y’all. It hasn’t let me down yet, and I doubt that it will.
2. DC with Crème of Nature Straight from Eden Hydrating Conditioner under two plastic caps and a plastic shopping bag for one hour. I have to say that my experience with this conditioner from the last time I wrote about it is night and day. There was a little more slip and no yanking my wide toothed comb through my hair. Maybe the more into my stretches I get, I may have to add to this conditioner to get the slip I want but we’ll see. As for the many layers of plastic on my head, I really wanted to make sure that I generated enough heat without having to pull out my steamer.
3. Rinsed out the conditioner and T-shirt dried my hair for 15 minutes to soak up the excess water. I then sprayed Crème of Nature Straight from Eden Hydrating Leave In Conditioner and combed through my hair. I then set my hair on gray rollers with purple rollers for my nape and temples using Crème of Nature Moroccan Argan Oil Styling Foam and I sat under the dryer for an hour and fifteen minutes. I need to practice more on my roller set application but my time is getting better, so that’s a plus.
4. Once my hair was completely dry, I took the rollers out and wrapped my hair using Crème of Nature Straight from Eden Repairing Oil and covered with saran wrap and sat under the dryer for 10 minutes. Afterwards I removed the plastic and covered my hair with my satin scarf and went to bed.
So far I have to say that my hair is getting along with the Straight from Eden line. I would love to try the relaxer as I have said before but now it won’t be until the next time I relax which will be before the end of 2015.
Well that’s all for now. Be sure to check out the Wash Day Experience being hosted by KLP of Saving our Strands and Jen from Just GrowAlready.
